Legendary boxer Mike Tyson said in January that he would support his countryman and friend Donald Trump. The famous boxer has been with Trump for 30 years.
“Yes, dammit, yes,” Tyson exclaimed, answering the question of “Daily Bist”, whether he would support the Trump in the presidential election and continued:
I’m a black man from a poor neighborhood, one of the poorest in the country. I’ve been through a lot of things and I know him. When we meet, he puts his hand on me, showing respect for my family, “Tyson said.
“And I know him. When I see him, he shakes my hand and respects my family. None of them- Barack, whoever- nobody else does that. They’re gonna be who they are and disregard me, my family.”
“So I’m voting for him. If I can get 200,000 people or more to vote for him, I’m gonna do it.”
Mr Tyson said“We’re the same guy. A thrust for power, a drive for power. Whatever field we’re in, we need power in that field. That’s just who we are.”
Tyson, who converted to Islam whilst in prison following his conviction for rape, said that he was not concerned that Mr Trump might successfully ban Muslims from entering the US, as the politician had previously indicated.
Tyson said: “He’s just not gonna do that. Congress just won’t do that. But that doesn’t mean he can’t be president, you know what I mean?”
“Yes, he didn’t know how to say it,” Tyson said. “He said really crude things. It was really crude. And he needs somebody to work with him on how to deliver his messages.
But man, as far as what he did, he’s an average guy like everybody else.”
